There are two things I obsess the most about when it comes to planning one of my daughters parties. Invitations & cake. The invitations are your guests first look into your event, your theme, your colors, it gives them an idea of what to expect. Then the cake…well you can’t have a birthday party without cake so it’s kinda the most important part in my eyes in regards to decor! I always try to impress when it comes to the invitations and I have so much fun designing them. I wanted something truly magical this year for my daughters Swan Lake party. I knew right away I wanted to do something Acrylic. I see it becoming a very hot party trend next year. So after much research I decided on Jenn and Jules Designs for the actual invite but I didn’t stop there. [Read more…]
Oh What Fun!
Here we are just 12 days until Christmas. Can you believe it? I am seriously so far behind on decorating and getting everything prepared. We just put our tree up two nights ago but it still has no lights or ornaments. Its just standing there in the corner all crooked and alone looking so pathetic. My goal for this weekend is to bust out some serious Christmas magic. I normally leave our decorations up until after the new year so I still have a good 3 weeks to enjoy them. One way to always get me in the spirit though is a party so I’m sharing with you today the 3rd party in my series with Replay Recycled. I used their two newest colors of Teal & Amethyst which aren’t your normal everyday Christmas colors so I really had to think outside of the box. [Read more…]
Princess Odette Sparkles
My daughter Leilani recently turned 6 and she is such an animal lover. She spends her afternoon drawing pictures of puppies, kittens, dragons and of course unicorns. When asked what she wants to be when she grows up her response is a singing veterinarian unicorn wrangler and I have no doubt that is what she will be. We decided she was becoming responsible enough to have her own little pet so on her birthday we took her to the pound. They had just put up for adoption a litter of 7 kittens that were abandoned. We went and sat in the kitten playroom and they unleashed all 7 kittens on us and this little one took to Leilani right away. Crawled up on her lap and started to snuggle with her little kitten motor purring. It was the cutest dang thing so there was no doubt she was coming home with us. I personally wanted to take them all home but I guess that is frowned upon. In true Leilani fashion she named her Princess Odette Sparkles and insists on wearing her black and white dress daily so she can look more like her mama. [Read more…]
Christmas Cards with Shindigz
This year for our Christmas cards I wanted to do something fun. My original idea was a family shoot with all of us out in the field with the cutest props I had been stockpiling. I won’t go into to much detail because I can still do it next year. 🙂 Anyhow, time got away from me. I was extremely busy with family photo shoots and throwing 4 Christmas parties before December 1st for the blog that I just didn’t have the time to style something the way I wanted. I had an idea to do something cute with the kids in Christmas pajamas after I found these adorable reindeer pajamas at Kohls but I knew my son would never go for it. He’s 15 and getting him to let me take his picture was a job in itself, then to ask him to put on some pajamas and send it out to everyone in my address book was just not gonna happen. Until….. Pancakes, Pajamas & Plaid
Today I am inviting you over for some pancakes in your pajamas as we continue the countdown until Christmas. This Pancakes, Pajamas & Plaid party is number 2 in my 3 party series where I partnered up with RE-Play Recycled childrens tableware to show you just how fun it can be to use reusable products to set your kids table. One of the best things about this tableware is that it can also double as a party favor if you just add a cute little tag which I think is pretty awesome sauce! So keep scrolling to check out this fun little camp I put together and see what activities I had in store for the kids. [Read more…]
