Are you ready for the girliest camp out you ever did see? I teamed up with my girlfriend Lesley for her daughter Lilah’s 7th birthday. The birthday girl wasn’t set on a specific theme but her only request when we started planning was to be able to get her nails done. My kinda girl!We toyed with the idea of a spa party but that really wasn’t sparking my creativity, then it came to me…Glamping!! Any chance I can get to glitter pine cones count me in! Once the theme was set I joined forces with Shindigz to showcase their Camp Glam line which pulled it all together perfectly. The decor started at the entrance with a life size standee of the birthday girl Welcoming her glampers.
Once around back they came into the picnic area. My husband and I joined forces to custom build these petite picnic tables. If you are local to OC they are now available for rent. Are they not the perfect shade of pink? For the place settings I used orange chevron dinner plates topped with both the personalized and non personalized version of dessert plates. Bermuda Blue napkins and bedazzled wooden cutlery rounded it out. I painted some glass jars I had on hand (from my past Frappuccino addiction) a shiny gold and added a vinyl decal of the girls initials cut from my Cricut. Finished them off with a few different trims around the top and they doubled for a great party favor as well. I had these forest friends leftover from my daughters Enchanted Four-est party a few years back so I stuffed them inside some glittered grapevine balls and how cute and simple are these centerpieces? Coordinating water bottle labels are a must and I always bedazzle the tops with glittered paper cutouts. For food we served up hot dogs, mac & cheese, with chips & fruit skewers. I used tree trunk place mats to display them. Onto the dessert table which is always the best part! I’ve used this table for a few shoots and use it regularly on my front porch to decorate for the holidays. I rolled up to a gardener one day who was cutting down some trees. I was like “Hey! You gonna use those tree branches?” He looked at me funny and said no crazy lady, help yourself. 10 mins later I pull up to the house with tree branches sticking out of every window of my car and my husband has that same funny look on his face. It’s my most favorite piece ever that he’s built me. Gold lanterns were used thruout. Cookies from Baked By Bri. Cupcake wrappers with coordinating toppers are the easiest way to up the look of store bought cupcakes. Even better when you can customize them to say whatever you’d like! Fire logs! You cant go camping without trail mix, its just a fact. To make them Glam worthy I painted the lids a shiny gold color, added a layer of fabric for some added pretty then topped with custom stickers. The 2″ size fits perfectly on the mason jar lids.
Another necessity for camping is S’mores. Since we had so many cute desserts already on display we opted to send these s’more kits home as part of their party favors. A few assorted candies in apothecary jars were the final touch. In case anyone wanted to go trail riding we had the cutest bike ready to go. This right here would be the Glampsite which was composed of the nail tent & makeup bar. The girls were in heaven getting all dolled up. Personalized directional sign let everyone know how to find their way. Check out that custom camper back there! Makes for a great photo booth opportunity! Another activity to keep the glampers occupied was Arts & Crafts time. They got to decorate rocks & wood slabs with paint pens & sticker rhinestones.
These glam aid kits were stocked full of goodies! I’ll show whats in side here shortly but I used these pink gable boxes and added these labels to coordinate them with the other paper items. I used a large canvas teepee to provide some shade and adorned the top with different colored honeycomb balls. Glittered tree branches brought in some more Glam appeal. The cutest campfire ever! Look ya’ll were in southern California and this was September. It was hot!! No way did we need to get the real fire going so I whipped this bad boy up. Once it got darker I turned the flame-less candles on inside and it looked so cute all lit up. Finally, onto the party festivities! The glam aid kits were stocked with all the necessities needed to get your glam on. Glitter bracelets, glitter nail files, lip gloss, a compact mirror, hair pins and mini nail polish to take home. I’ll let ya’ll in on a little secret. Swiss cake rolls are like my most favorite thing ever. If you wanna be besties, just bring me swiss cake rolls. I’ve been dying to make one of those tin can phone things from back in the day and this was the perfect opportunity. It didn’t quite work so well, I think maybe too much bedazzling took place but it was fun watching them trying to get it to work. The last activity I put together for the girls are called Story Stones. I painted cute little images on river stones and stuffed them inside drawstring bags. You all sit around the campfire and the first person reaches into the bag and pulls out a stone. Whatever is on that stone she starts a story about it, then the next person pulls out a stone and adds to the story until everyone has added a piece to the story. It was so cute to hear what their little imaginations came up with. Cake time is always the best time! And that’s how you Glamp!
