Fall is here, it’s almost Halloween, the leaves are turning colors and the weather is cooler right?
No.
I think someone forgot to tell California because we are in a major heat wave right now. Seriously, its 100 degrees today and that equals no Fall fun. I’m ready for sweater weather, apple cider and snuggles by the fire, aren’t you? I’m so ready that I said a little prayer to the pumpkin gods asking for cooler weather and they told me to throw a Welcome Fall party, so I did just that. Fingers crossed it works!
There are two things that remind me of Fall. Apples & Pumpkins. I’m team apple…. I love cider, apples pies and all the apple cinnamon goodies. My husband however is team pumpkin and will eat anything that has the words pumpkin & spice in it. So to please us both with any left over goodies I incorporated them both. 
I found the cutest little pumpkin shaped cookies at Trader Joes. 
Of course some pumpkin spice cupcakes!
Candy Apples are a hot commodity at my house. My teenage son loves them! I might have bought a few extras and hid them. Okay, 3. I bought 3 extras and hid them in my office. They’re mine….all mine!!
Mini pies are just the cutest darn things aren’t they?! Even cuter when topped with a pie bunting topper from my friend Desiree at Dress My Table

There go those cookies again! 
I wanted a picnic style set up so I laid out an old gingham tablecloth and used apple picking baskets for the kids lunches. I pulled out my red & orange Re-Play kids tableware and packed each basket with a plate, drinking cup, utensils & snack stack full of pumpkin spice popcorn. 
The kids then had to make a very difficult decision that might haunt them for the rest of their lives. Were they going to be Team Apple or Team Pumpkin? I’m happy to say both my girls went in for the red! 
We love our Go Go Squeezes over here almost as much as candy apples! 
Last but not least, I always like to include a fun little activity for the kids. This time around it was pumpkin painting. It was a hot mess….and not just because it was hot out!
