My very first blog post!!

I am beyond excited to bring to you my very first blog post!! I have had the best time over the last few years providing freelance blogging services to numerous companies and sites but I felt the time has finally come for me to start my very own blog. Party over here! I have so many ideas, tutorials and parties I want to share I just couldn’t dish them out fast enough to other companies. So here I am….typing away….eager to share something with you! So here….here’s a pic of me blowing confetti! 

And here’s a pic of me holding some champagne!! Cheers to new adventures!! Can we just take a moment to acknowledge that huge rock on my finger tho? My husband did good!!Oh and here’s an extremely close up photo of me. 

Okay, so now that we’ve got the pleasantries out of the way onto a few more things I want to share. If you’ve been following me for a while then you know that at the start of this year I went through a company re-brand. Formally known as Sweet Jelly Parties…we now have a new look and I love it! A little more grown up, a bit of whimsy and of course PINK! Five Whimsy Lane will cover anything party related, styling services, party rentals &  handmade decor I sell in my Etsy shop. 

Another new adventure that I tackled within the last year has been to UP my photography game and I’m happy to say I have done just that. How amazing it is to have found another creative outlet for me to share with the world that I love just as much as parties! I initially picked up my camera because I wasn’t always thrilled with the shots I was getting from other photographers when I would hire them for a shoot and so I thought the only one that can give me what I’m really looking for is me. Once I actually started to learn what it was to be behind the camera and everything that goes into it it quickly became so much more to me. I realized how totally awesome sauce it was for me to be able to freeze these moments in time just how I saw them and then share them with everyone. AMAZING!! So from that comes:

Five Whimsy Lane Photography will cover just that….anything photography related. I might blog about shoots I just wrapped, tips on how to take better photos or some behind the scenes action. You just never know what I might throw at you! The majority of what I photograph are styled shoots, cakes smashes & children anyway so it fits into my party background perfectly. And since we’re on the subject of photography let me just share with you a pretty photo of my two favorite models.

Are you guys still with me? Is this the longest post in history?

Last but definitely not least I want to share with you one more thing I have in the works. When I will find the time to really launch it I don’t know but hopefully sooner rather then later. Of all the parties, projects and tutorials that I have ever done the one project that has gotten me the most traffic by far has been my daughters bedroom makeover & reveal. This was a project that I worked on with Shutterfly and I shared it with everyone over on the Project Nursery site. Since then it has gotten more than 1 million views!! Crazy town!! I still get emails to this day about the sheets & blankets I designed. What I loved most about that project was all the DIY touches I put into it. I just love designing new things…whether it be a skirt, bedsheets or headbands the one thing they always have in common is that they are for kids. So with that comes:

Five Whimsy Lane Kids will focus on things I create with kids in mind. Bedding, accessories, clothing, whatever my little heart desires at the time. It’s all so exciting so stay tuned for more of what’s to come! Some very exciting news is that my husband has given me the green light to redo our daughters room yet again since they are getting too big for their toddler beds. So that project will start sometime around Christmas! Can you say underwater Oasis? Heck Yeah! Make a wish upon a starfish!!
