Step Right Up to the Greatest Gala on Earth! I’m a bit late to the game on blogging this one since this event took place about 6 months ago and I’m already starting to plan our next one however that doesn’t make it any less fabulous.
This was our elementary schools first annual Gala in which we were raising funds to help update the computer lab at our school. With the help of many volunteers, community organizations and a whole bunch of other people we were able to raise $11,000 for the school! That’s huge and for it being our first big fundraiser like this we were beyond thrilled. I came on as the committee chair to help oversee the event and had so much fun making it look fabulous. It’s not all about the pretty though and we had numerous parent volunteers that helped in the silent auction and raffle baskets so thank you to everyone that pitched in. Now, let’s go check out all that pretty!
The event took place at the Mission Viejo Country Club. They graciously donated the use of their space which was amazing and we are so thrilled to be going back again this year! Upon arrival all the attendees had to sign in, pick up a program and a pinwheel. In keeping with the theme I made different colored pinwheels to represent the meal option they choose when they originally purchased their ticket. They then placed the pinwheel on their plate later to let the servers know what meal to serve them. Thank you to Party Karacters for providing us with our Ringmaster for the evening.
After check in, the guests were able to gather in the Silent Auction room and bid on numerous activities, packages and services donated from our community.
Live music was provided by Jerry Valentine & Shannon Brennan Music Duo. We are very excited to welcome them back again this year!
We also had a tabletop booth set up for anyone looking to purchase additional raffle tickets. The raffle baskets were put together by donations made from each classroom at the school. We then ventured into the dining area for dinner, drinks & dancing. Each table had a different coordinating centerpiece to match the theme. Thank you to my good friend April for being our designated cookie lady for the evening! I set up an Eats & Treats table for guests to take home some goodies. Peanut bags can be found here.Amazing cookies donated by Creative Little Cookie. Vintage Circus Posters helped tie it all together. Outside we had a fun area setup for some old fashioned carnival games and a fun photo booth with props donated by Shindigz. Plinko was a hit! This fabulous balloon garland was donated by my friends over at CD Balloons & Crafts. What’s a Circus without a strongman & a bearded lady? Gotta love some ring toss!
Thought it would be fun to show a before & after. Thank you so much to all the people that came together to help make this event such a success. A special thank you to DJ Craig from Jukebox Heros for donating his services as well as Gina Luna Photography for helping to capture the memories. Planning is well underway for our 2nd Annual Gala and we would love for you to be there!
