It has taken me so long to get this party up on the blog for you guys and I really don’t know why. This was my daughter Leilani’s 7th birthday and she is now 9, so that shows you how far behind in blogging I am.But I will tell you this, it will be worth the wait. Out of 9 years worth of birthday parties for my little love bug this one is my favorite. The setting was perfect, the light was perfect, I put so much thought into every detail and it all came together beautifully. So, I am beyond excited to share with you guys, Majestic Meadows.
My thought process going into planning this party was dreaming of us owing our own little horse ranch. Which is how we came up with the name Majestic Meadows. As I get into sharing all the details with you (and there are a lot) I want to start with the invitations that went out. I always keep the guest list super small (4-6 guests invited) so the invites I love to go all out on and we usually hand deliver them. For these invites, I tucked them away inside a pretty litte kraft box personalized with flowers and each girls name. Inside are the beautiful tri-fold invites made using a navy blue chevron cardstock and adorned with a handmade paper ribbon. I used velcro stickers to make them easy to open & close.
Tucked inside the tri-fold was a double layered invite setting the tone for the party. They were so beautiful!
Moving onto party details….the color palette for this party was gorgeous with its deep tones & accents of this English blue. I used lots of vintage pieces thruout as well which we all know I love.
Leilani was obsessed around this time and still is with playing dolls. My suprise for all the girls was that they would get to pick out their very own Our Generation Doll which I spent months looking for all the horse themed dolls & accessories. I set up this little picnic area to display them all & give them a place to play.
For the drink station, I found this old dresser and gave it new life with some updated paint & new knobs.
An old tool box adorned with a horseshoe made for a fun water bottle display piece.
I bought books from the dollar store, ripped the cover off then tied them up with ribbon to give them a more vintage feel. This is a great way to add different levels of height when displaying decor.
All my “Trotting Treats” came from my favorite Baked By Bri. She is the best to work with while I’m sure I am the worst. She always takes all my detail requests and works with me until everything is just perfect!
My photo backdrop came From Shindigz. I utilized 4 of their boxwood panels to make the backdrop and added handmade paper fans, a horse saddle & a few other accents like rose colored honeycombs to complete the look.
I always try to incorporate a few different aspects of things that my girls love at that time in their life into their parties. Another huge interest of Leilani’s is painting, she is quite the little artist, so I put together this fun “Paint A Pony” activity.
Using watercolor paints, and vinyl sticker horse adorned canvases they would be able to paint their little masterpieces and either peel the horse off when it dried or leave it on.
The dining table was my favorite part. So many thoughtful details right down to the mini horseshoe place cards.
I rented out one of the pavilions at a local park which had numerous picnic tables for the parents to stay and eat. Using the leftover party decor I made a few different centerpieces for these tables to help tie them into the party.
Moving onto the food table. I told you there were so many details to share from this party! This gorgeous blush pink rosette tablecloth came from CV Linens.
“Hold Your Horses” dinner menu featured sandwiches from the delicious Mendocino Farms.
As I wrap up all the detail shots, the true magic happened when all the kids arrived. When we delivered the invitations we also gave each guests a pair of leggings that I purchased from my favorite online boutique JoyFolie. They were a mix of crushed velvet & English style riding pants so everyone could dress the part.
The faces on the girls when I took them over to the doll picnic & told them they each got to pick their own doll was priceless.
The riding style jackets my girls wore were also from JoyFolie.
After some play time we trotted over & let the girls eat.
Then it was back for some more play time & I let Leilani hand out the custom horseshoe necklaces my friend made. The tag said, “Thank You For Celebrating With Me”
And inside the necklace card said “I’m so lucky to have you in my life”
Then it was onto painting a pony!
Leilani at the time was taking English style horseback riding lessons so this was her actual horseback riding helmet. I found this perfect navy blue velevet helmet cover on Amazon.
I had one final surprise in store for the girls and their faces truly made it all worth it. Time for cake!
It truly was the most magical day for myself and all the girls & is still something Leilani talks about 2 years later. One of the reasons I had to hold off on sharing the party in the beggining was because it was picked up by Mingle Magazine for their Summer 2019 Issue and had an 8 page feature which looked amazing in print. Here is a sample pulled from their site.
Before I wrap up, I just want to thank all the vendors that helped make this amazing party possible & thank you to you guys for sticking around for such a long post. If you loved this party as much as I did, do me a solid & Pin It for later!
