Are you ready to Paw-ty?My sweet, sweet Olivia who just turned 6 years old shares something in common with me, her love for cats. Both of my girls are future crazy cat ladies, I’m calling it now. So, imagine my glee when she told me she wanted a cat party for her birthday. Preparations started many months in advance. Yarn balls were being made in February when her party wasn’t until August. The first thing I had to do before I could start anything though was to select the color palette. Did you know that coral is the Pantone color of the year for 2019? It’s one of my favorite colors to work with so I paired it with my other favorite pastels such as lavender, light pink & mint green. Then I said, what the heck let’s throw some gold and leopard print in there as well and see how it all comes together. Beautifully, it all came together beautifully. Let’s check it out!Welcoming the other little kitties right from the start with this adorable yarn wreath. It took roughly 2 hours to wrap this Styrofoam wreath form in enough yarn to cover it but in the end so cute and worth every minute! This is why I start prep months in advance. These cat faces came from Shindigz. I uploaded the jpeg design that I had of each face and they print, cut and send my way. SO easy!
Whew! Now that we’ve gotten thru months worth of crafting details, it’s onto Paw-ty time! We started off by getting our cat faces and ears on. Then it was time to feast. After feasting, we joined in the kitty korner for some pin the whiskers. I ordered a life size cardboard standee of Olivia from Shindigz, made whiskers out of pipe cleaners and then let the girls go to town blindfolded trying to stick them on. They loved it! Adopt a kitty time. Back to this amazing “Glitter Box” After the girls adopted their kitty they had to dig thru the glitter box to find a bell. Then they could finish making a collar for the kitty using a pipe cleaner and other cute accessories like stickers and rhinestones. After decorating, Olivia got to open her gifts while I cleaned up for cake. The paw-ty was wrapping up so I brought out special guest Piper Blu to make an appearance then handed out all the favors. Everyone went home as one Smitten Kitten. Wasn’t that the cutest? But the real question is have you had enough of my cat puns yet?
